CAISA Commission Members

The CAISA Commission consists of 16 professional educators (and two public members)  who meet four times a year to review the reports submitted by CAISA volunteer evaluators. The Commission makes their recommendation on the outcome of the team visits and candidacy visits and submits their recommendations to the NEASC Board of Trustees for approval.

The Commission members serve three year terms and can be reappointed at the end of that period for a total period of nine years. They are appointed by the CAISA Director and the Executive Director of NEASC.

All are experienced evaluators that donate their time and effort to the process of accreditation.  The Commission is headed by Chair  Carl Stasio, Headmaster of the prestigious Thornton Academy in Saco, Maine.
